Austin Water Fluoridation
Congratulations to Mandy Rogers and other members of the dental community  for their success with continuing the fluoridation of water in the Austin city limits. Please be aware  that UT VP of Operations  has decided to install fluoride free water fountains throughout the campus.  We need others  to fight this fight as Mandy and other members of the dental committee have done.
Risk of Radiation
Members can go to the TDHA website for the speech to the public concerning the Risk of Radiation causing  benign tumors in the brain. If you have heard questions about  this from your patients, a group of dentists from Dallas area compiled the research and evidence to speak against radiation as a probable cause for brain tumors.  This was a broadcast by Diane Sawyer and was widely seen.  Expect to be questioned about it.  This information will help you.
Legislative Awareness Day
Legislative Awareness day will be February 3 and 4. Please mark your calendar to be at the capitol to visit your legislators. Be aware of the primaries that are going on in your area. Visit candidates and be willing to participate in their campaigns. 45 states now have local anesthesia. Florida has recently passed this law for hygienists.
